At every monthly meeting in Waltham, FMS Boston will be hosting a 50/50 Raffle to benefit one deserving charity. Fifty percent of the net proceeds from raffle sales will go to a lucky meeting participant and the remainder will benefit a charity to be chosen each month.
As winner of our September raffle, FMS Boston member, Rob Smalley of Berry Dunn, has selected Flashes of Hope - Northern New England as the charity to benefit from our October raffle. The Northern New England Chapter of Flashes of Hope was founded by Laura Jacobi, CFO of Lake Sunapee Bank.
Flashes of Hope raises funds to accelerate a cure for children's cancer while honoring the unique life and memories of every child fighting cancer.
When a child or teenager is diagnosed with cancer, trips to the hospital instantly become the new routine. Isolated from school, siblings and friends, it can be a challenge to find reasons to smile. Yet, children with cancer find a way. Flashes of Hope is there to capture those smiles and forever preserve images of courage, beauty and dignity. Volunteer stylists make every child feel special before they step in front of the camera with family, friends and often, a favorite nurse. A routine day quickly turns into a celebration of the love that surrounds them.
Flashes of Hope honors the courage of children with cancer; capture a moment in time and fund research so they will have the chance to create a lifetime of memories.
